About Us
The Monument Builders of the Carolinas is a non-profit organization established in 1976 to promote the integrity, products and services provided by its membership to the general public. The organization emphasizes professionalism in management, workmanship and customer relations within the memorial industry.
With these goals in mind, we are continually seeking ways to keep our membership informed and on the “cutting edge” of the monument trade and related industries. Our areas of focus in achieving these goals are our annual workshop in February and our annual associational convention in September. At these functions, we provide informative speakers, “hands on” workshops, and wholesale sponsors who provide their valuable information on products and services used throughout our industry.
Continuing Education
It is the intention of the MBOC to bring its members together at workshops and conventions throughout the year to allow them to learn from one another as well as from other professionals associated with our industry.
Workshops
MBOC Workshops take place annually in February and provide many opportunities for members to acquaint themselves with new and exciting shop techniques.
Conventions
MBOC Conventions are great places to meet industry representatives from Elberton and other granite industry cities all across America. Conventions provide the chance to learn new sales, design and office skills from both retailers and wholesalers. Conventions are also great times for meeting your fellow retailers in a place for learning from each other. Many members tell us that they have profited from conventions far more than the cost of attending. Our educational sessions also earn certification points for the MBOC license but also for the MBNA Certified Memorialist program.
Monument Builders of the Carolinas has set as its mission to bring quality professional education to memorialists in both North and South Carolina. We do this through our semi-annual meetings by bringing the most knowledgeable people in the industry to our members.
